Although we are general practices, the doctors at Minnesota Valley Veterinary Services and Arlington Animal Clinic are well versed in the more common illnesses and injuries that occur to dogs and cats. <\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Dermatology:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Itchy dogs and cats are a common reason owners bring their pets to the vet. We understand itching is not only irritating for them, but also very frustrating for you as the owner! The two most common causes of itching are fleas or allergies. Fleas can be eliminated by consistently using a good flea\/tick preventative such as Nexgard\u00ae, or Nexgard Plus\u00ae.<\/span><\/p>

Allergies present a bigger challenge. They can result from food, the environment (hay fever, dander, molds etc.), or contact with certain surfaces or fabrics. Our primary goal when dealing with dermatology cases is to make your pet comfortable. We will work with you to determine the best treatment for your pet\u2019s itching so we can relieve it.  We have several tools available, including topical therapy like shampoos, supplements such as fish oils, and new advancements in medications. Occasionally, the situation requires a more specialized approach, so we can refer you to a board-certified veterinary dermatologist. We are here to help your pet \u201cDitch the Itch.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

We are also able to deal with other skin issues, such as mange, hair loss, lacerations, and abscesses for example.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Internal Medicine:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Our doctors are well equipped to diagnose and treat many conditions and diseases:<\/span><\/p>
